Coal Ash
In geological exploration, coal ash composition provides fundamental technical information, including ash residue, coal seams, coal mineral composition, and other related data. It can also be used to estimate the melting temperature of coal ash. Based on the levels of alkaline oxide components such as potassium, sodium, and calcium in coal ash, the potential corrosion of boilers during coal combustion and the degree of environmental pollution can be roughly predicted.
Currently, chemical methods and ICP methods are mainly used to determine coal ash components. These methods require complex sample pre-treatment, and different components must be processed separately. The analysis cycle is long, often taking 2–4 days to obtain results, making the process time-consuming and labor-intensive. XRF analysis offers advantages such as a wide linear range, rapid analysis speed, good reproducibility, and high accuracy, easily meeting the needs of rapid iron production and boiler safety measures in the energy sector.
