The determination of the API crystal form in original/reference preparations and homemade formulations is an important step in the development of generic drugs. Crystal form identification can be performed using a range of optional analytical methods, including X-ray powder diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and vibrational spectroscopy (far-infrared spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy). Among these, Raman spectroscopy is rapid in analysis and provides fingerprint characteristics for pharmaceuticals, making it suitable for molecular structure studies. Therefore, it is widely used in quality control of pharmaceutical excipients and for rapid on-site inspections.
