What is REACH and Why is it Important?
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is a European Union regulation concerning the registration, evaluation, authorisation, and restriction of chemicals.

The REACH regulation was established to ensure the safe use of all chemical substances in the European market, aiming to protect human health and the environment.

This regulation is one of the most comprehensive systems in the field of chemical safety worldwide and evaluates products sold in the EU market under three main categories:

  • Substances (e.g., pure chemicals),

  • Mixtures (e.g., paints, detergents, coating solutions),

  • Articles and products (e.g., electronic devices, metal parts, plastic components).

Why is REACH important?
The REACH regulation requires manufacturers and importers to record the content of the chemicals they use, the conditions for their safe use, and their potential environmental impacts. In this way, the uncontrolled use of chemicals harmful to human health is prevented, and sustainable production processes are promoted.

Compliance with REACH provides companies with conformity to EU environmental standards, reliability in international trade, and brand reputation. Therefore, REACH is not only a legal requirement but also a fundamental indicator of an environmentally conscious approach to production.
