What is the WEEE (AEEE) Directive and Why is it Important?

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), known in Turkish as Atık Elektrikli ve Elektronik Ekipman (AEEE) Directive, is an environmental regulation (2002/96/EC) adopted by the European Parliament and the Council.

This directive aims to ensure the recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment and its environmentally responsible disposal.

The WEEE Directive is an important regulation supporting environmental sustainability in response to the rapidly increasing amount of electronic waste (e-waste). It mandates the proper collection, separation, recycling, and reuse of electrical and electronic devices at the end of their life cycle.
